Bottom Up Method – Neurobiology-based CB Intrinsic Touch
Students/readers learn touch techniques to control their pain (fibromyalgia, diabetes neuropathy, pinched spinal nerves, migraines, torn ligaments or tendons, chronic pain from any source, and more). We scratch an itch to stop it. That is one type of touch. Another type of touch, Intrinsic Touch, stops pain or reduces it significantly. It is not innate like scratching, so we have to learn how to do it. Learning Intrinsic Touch is very easy and it works very quickly. As with an itch, when the itch returns, you scratch it again. When pain returns, you Intrinsic Touch it again. Simple.
Top Down Method – Cognitive Neuroscience-based Pain Control
Student/readers are also taught how to relieve or knock down pain through specific cognitive neuroscience, mindfulness-based techniques. Practiced over time, along with the CB Intrinsic Touch, CB Intrinsic mindfulness-based techniques relieve pain on command. Intrinsic Touch stops pain signals from reaching the brain and our awareness, while mindfulness techniques teach the mind itself to turn off sensations of pain, and in some cases that mind control becomes automatic, i.e., the brain stops it before you become aware of the pain.
Skills continue to improve over time. Once the pain is gone, muscle and gland function potentially improve (for some conditions).
